Mike Freiheit is a cartoonist, teacher and illustrator living in Chicago. For a year he lived in South Africa and worked at a primate sanctuary, where he cooked for monkeys every day.
Monkey Chef: A Love Story is an autobiographical account of Mike’s time at the sanctuary, dealing with travel, loneliness, romance, toxic masculinity, and our connection to the animals and world around us.
